Technical Platform Manager - D3 Platform

For the Technology & Innovation department in Service Wind Power we are looking for a talented and experienced Technical Platform Manager. The department is responsible the entire product lifecycle management from a service perspective. This means developing service concepts, tools and processes for the service-ability of the various turbine platforms in Siemens Wind Powers portfolio. The team has a huge impact on the performance of our turbines and the quality of our technicians; hence the Technical Platform Manager position will have a key role in Siemens Wind Power going forward.

What are my responsibilities?
The main role of our new Technical Platform Manager is to take ownership of the Service of the D3 platform, covering our 3.0MW Direct Drive turbines - from requirement identification, design review/input and testing to final documentation and implementation. During the process you will be supported by highly skilled colleagues who will help securing a successful implementation of the projects.

Your responsibilities are:

  • Be the technical owner and manage the platform from a service perspective.
  • Ensure development of Service Concepts and needed setups.
  • Ensure deliveries associated with the PDP@wind, the product development model used in Siemens Wind Power.
  • Assist regions in questions regarding the platform and ensure alignment between the regions.
  • Coordinate the development of work instructions, manuals and tools with relevant owners as well as manage test-assemblies.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • You have a technical background, combined with at least 3-5 years of experience in developing products and associated solutions. In doing so you are used to document your developments in a structured and professional manner. It is a clear advantage if you hold knowledge of the D3 platform.
  • It comes natural to you to collaborate and establish good relations to subject matter experts and sub-suppliers in order to ensure best possible project results. Some of these resources are located abroad, so it is important you feel at ease in conducting long-distance management and collaboration.
  • As a person you are holistic, proactive, persistent and self-driven, and you thrive in an environment where you own the technical solution from identification to implementation and phase-out of the platform. Besides, you are innovative, open-minded and extroverted. You are a skilled negotiator with the ability to communicate at all levels, and you possess excellent English skills both orally and in writing.
