IT/Electrical Engineer for wind farm communication networks

Join us as Engineer in our SCADA department which is involved in all engineering phases within automation of wind power systems. We are responsible for all aspects of both person-to-person and technical communication in relation to onshore and offshore wind farms.

The SCADA department is part of Wind Power, which has 1400 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe.

You may choose freely to be based either at our office in Skærbæk near Fredericia or in Gentofte near Copenhagen. As you will be working with wind projects in Northern Europe, you should expect frequent travelling between our offices and occasional travelling to our construction sites abroad.

Areas of responsibility
You will join the SCADA Communication team which is responsible for the complete fibre, router and automation infrastructure connecting the wind turbines to the land-based IT infrastructure.

Together with your colleagues, you will offer specialist support regarding construction of wind farms. Your tasks will also include data and person-to-person communication systems specification, implementation and documentation.

You will help ensure that the products we deliver meet our standards for robustness, safety and performance according to the local legislation and the internal DONG Energy standards.

Your profile
You hold a relevant engineering degree within IT or electrical engineering and have relevant experience, preferably from the energy sector. Moreover, you have experience with OSPF, Multicast, BGP and FW security. It is an advantage if you possess CISCO certifications like CCNP and CCIP.

Excellent communication skills, enabling you to present and communicate complex matters in a professional and straightforward way to your colleagues and stakeholders is important. Moreover, you have good English and preferably also German skills, both verbally and in writing, enabling you to operate efficiently in an international environment.

You are good team player and have a goal-oriented approach to your work. Due to your strong personal drive, you are able to make and implement decisions swiftly and efficiently.

Additionally, you are able to take the leading role in order to achieve results. You are also able to prioritise your tasks and find the appropriate balance between delegation and personal execution. We expect flexible working hours with up to 50 days of travelling a year.
