Electro Engineer for technical problem solving for all offshore wind turbines in operation

Would you like to work with technical challenges from an operational point of view and see your work impacting the performance of our turbines?

Join us as Electro Engineer in our electrical team in Wind Turbine Generator Systems. Together with two colleagues, you will be in charge of all electrical aspects, including Operation & Maintenance design reviews, root cause analysis, improvement initiatives, technical contract negotiations and much more.

Wind Turbine Generator Systems is part of Global Operations in Wind Power, which has 1400 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe.

You may choose freely to be based either at our office in Skærbæk near Fredericia or in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area. You should, however, expect some travelling to our locations in Denmark and abroad in relation to your work.

Areas of responsibility
As Electro Engineer, you work on our entire portfolio of wind turbines from many major suppliers. Your primary tasks include working with the main electrical components for wind turbines to ensure optimum operation and the best possible lifetime.

Moreover, you contribute with technical expertise in connection with operational expenses and WTG supply contract tendering.

To ensure structured and well-documented WTG operation, you work with asset integrity management systems, such as AIM, ISO55000. Technical risk registers and WTG masters form the backbone of your work on optimisation of WTG integrity.

Furthermore, your key duties will be to:

  • provide technical knowledge to the operators of the turbines
  • secure reliability through structured and analytical work
  • reduce the impact of failure modes by contributing to a proactive and curious working culture.

Your profile
You have a relevant bachelor or master’s degree in electrical engineering or similar supplemented with knowledge of electro and/or electrical systems. In addition you have some experience with failure mode analysing and troubleshooting.

Ideally, you have experience with wind turbines and reliability tools, preferably Six Sigma (DMAIC).

As we operate in an international environment, it is essential that you speak and write English fluently. It is considered an advantage if you speak and write Danish as well.

In addition, you are able to create excellent results through teamwork and develop good relationships with your colleagues and external partners. At the same time, you are able to act independently and proactively in challenging situations.

We offer
A unique and exciting job in a dynamic department with many cross-disciplinary activities. You have the opportunity to cooperate with committed and skilled colleagues across an international organisation.

Furthermore, we offer great development possibilities both personally and professionally, and you get the chance to be part of the whole life span of our wind turbines, from initial contract to finished product. Thus, you get to be part of developing the performance of our wind turbines and gather a broad spectre of knowledge about the industry and our turbines.

In DONG Energy Wind Power, we have a high level of expertise and many complex and challenging work tasks. We work goal-oriented and efficiently with some of the world's largest offshore wind projects, and we are committed to reducing the cost of electricity.
