Do you want to be responsible for leading a department of highly skilled and dedicated people towards wind farm operational excellence while managing the fastest growing offshore wind turbine base in the world? 

Join us and become our new Manager of the Technical Support department part of WTG Management situated in DONG Energy Wind Power Global Operations. Here you will be heading a fast growing department with three teams consisting of 17 committed employees working with day-to-day WTG performance, WTG special tasks and jack-up and heavy lifting operations for our offshore wind farms in Northern Europe. 

The department is part of Wind Power, which has 1400 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe. 

You may choose freely to be based either at our office in Skærbæk near Frederica or in Gentofte in the greater Copenhagen area. You should expect some travelling to our offices and sites in Denmark and Northern Europe, primarily the United Kingdom and Germany. 

Areas of responsibility 
Your areas of responsibility include development of a clear and visionary strategy with goals and objectives for the department, organisation of the department and leading the department's efforts in supporting the DONG Energy strategy objective of lowering the cost of energy through reduced operating costs and increased yield. 

As Manager of Technical Support, you are part of the WTG Management leadership team where you spar professionally with three experienced peers. 

Furthermore, your key duties will be to:

  • manage department budget, team development and recruitment to ensure a high-performance team
  • monitor staff performance, including performance reviews
  • determine and implement best practices in the department
  • monitor and review the productivity, goal progress and activity levels of all projects handled by the department.

Your profile 
You have a relevant educational background, as for example a bachelor or master degree in engineering supplemented with a degree in business administration. 

Moreover, you have prior leadership experience from a job with staff responsibility. As we are an international company and cooperate closely with our colleagues abroad, it is essential that you have strong communication skills and speak and write English fluently. Wind turbine experience will be considered an advantage. 

As a person, you have a strong personal drive and are able to create consensus on a common objective. Additionally, you can motivate and coach a group of skilled employees, influencing them to act positively and take responsibility for their task performance. You are also able to delegate tasks in a confidence-inspiring way and you can create good relationships with your colleagues and partners.
