Are you interested in working with highly technical tasks within structural disciplines? And doing this together with colleagues who are the best within their field? Then keep on reading, since we have some challenging structural offshore projects, which will ensure your development in this area.

Detail design, reassessment of offshore steel jackets and riser systems
You play an important part in strengthening the marine structures department within global analyses and especially design and re-analysis of offshore steel jackets and riser systems. As part of this you will be responsible for reassessment as well as concept and design studies of main and secondary offshore structures. You are used to work independently within the field and will bring new knowledge to the department and will also act as a coach/mentor for junior employees, typically 1-3 colleagues at the time. In your mentoring role you will primarily focus on design and analysis tasks, and improve their skills through professional discussions and sparring.

Your tasks in a typical work week could consist of:

  • Reinforcement/reassessment projects for offshore steel jackets
  • Detail design of large offshore steel structures, jackets and mono-towers/monopiles, e.g. wellhead and transformer platforms
  • Design and reassessment of risers, riser caissons and subsea structures connecting to pipelines
  • Prepare installation and removal procedures, e.g. design of lifting appliances, preparation of lifting procedures, lifting method feasibility study using 3D CAD
  • Design primary, secondary and temporary steel such as mud mats, lifting points, caissons and j-tubes and working platforms
  • Prepare design documentation for 3rd party verification

As you will become part of an international team, you will also get the chance to travel internationally, typically 5-10 days per year in Norway, Middle East, UK and India.

Combine your strong specialist skills with your encouragement to build relations
You must have strong specialist skills and an analytical approach combined with professionalism that ensures the successes for your own tasks and your colleagues' tasks. As an excellent and focused communicator you know the importance of ongoing correspondence with clients throughout a project. It is natural for you to collaborate across disciplines and to build good relations with clients, as well as colleagues. Finally, you have solid experience with managing projects and consistently achieve project goals via your strong planning and organisational skills.

In addition to your personal qualities, we imagine that you possess the following skills:

  • A Bachelor or Master's degree in structural or mechanical engineering
  • Min. 3-5 years of experience in design of steel structures, preferably from the on- or offshore business in Scandinavia or another relevant region
  • Excellent communication skills. Fluency in English written and spoken is a must and Danish is an advantage
  • Experience as a project manager/lead engineer for design projects, including having done project tenders and is used to secure cost, time, resources and quality in project work
  • Advanced user of a 3D beam element program (e.g. ROSAP, SESAM or SACS) or used to interact with engineers working with the models

Your new colleagues
The Marine Structures department consists of 45 highly skilled colleagues and is a self propelled department consisting of 5 teams including CAD, software developers and senior chief specialists who deliver high end services within offshore steel structures. You will have the opportunity to develop your professional skills and act as sparring in a multidiscipline and international environment.
