Manager for department handling offshore cable installation and project development

Would you like to help us define the installation concepts for our future Offshore Wind projects to ensure that we provide a safe and efficient installation method?

Join us and become Manager in our newly established department for Project Development within Offshore Cable Installation in Offshore Management. We are responsible for ensuring that our projects are planned according to best practice, and that we continuously focus on improving our efficiency to lower the cost of electricity as well as maintaining high safety standards.

Project Development in Offshore Cable Installation is part of Wind Power, which has 1400 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe.

You may choose freely to be based at one of our Danish offices in either Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area or in Skærbæk near Fredericia; alternatively you may be based in our London office in the United Kingdom on local terms and conditions. However, you should expect extensive travel in relation to your work as part of your work will be done at our onshore and offshore sites in Northern Europe.

Areas of responsibility
As Manager, you are responsible for the development of our Offshore Cable Installation campaigns in our projects. Your main focus is to ensure that our recommendations to the projects reflect 'best practise'. In close cooperation with the Project Managers, you make sure we select concepts that are safe and robust. In addition, you ensure we support the development of new innovative technology leading to better performance and lower the cost of electricity.

Another part of your role is to be responsible for the administrative and daily management required to lead a successful department. You collaborate with the Manager for Offshore Cable Installation, Execution, to coordinate competence development within the functional area as well as development and recruitment of employees

Furthermore, your key duties will be to:

  • keep abreast of changing applicable legislation, and co-ordinate with other parts of DONG Energy
  • assist in the development of corporate strategies as appropriate
  • collaborate with other relevant parts of the organisation in regards to technical solutions selected on coming projects
  • contribute to development of key documents for the department
  • ensure a strong collaboration in the department as well as between the management team in the United Kingdom and Denmark.

Your profile
You are a mechanical engineer, civil engineer or bachelor of engineering with considerable experience in construction of large offshore infrastructure projects. You understand how to work within a matrix project oriented organisation in order to successfully lead the department. You speak and write English fluently.

As a person, you have excellent communication and people skills and excel in working internationally with various partners. You have an analytical approach to your tasks. In addition, you are structured, results-oriented, flexible and adaptable, enabling you to handle your tasks even in a hectic environment.
