For the marine structures department in Ramboll Oil & Gas, we are looking for an experienced engineer to be lead in new designs of jackets and reassessment of existing large offshore steel structures. Ramboll Oil & Gas is one of the leading players in supplying state-of-the-art offshore designs and consultancy.

Project design lead in new designs and reinforcement / reassessment of existing offshore structures
As Lead / Senior Structural Engineer, you will be a strong support to the management team in the department. Through your solid experience in delivering quality solutions, you act as role model for your colleagues, and take responsibility in complex project execution. Internally, you will collaborate with experienced team members and specialists and externally directly with the clients. Some of your key tasks will include:

  • Reassess existing jackets for clients, with responsibility for preparing CTR (Cost, Time and Resource breakdown) and project solving
  • Detail design of large offshore steel structures (jackets and monotowers / monopoles)
  • Status reporting to project managers
  • Participation in all phases of the project ranging from project initiation, project workshops, setting up structural models and project documentation
  • Design of installation and removal procedures such as lifting appliances and other feasibility studies
  • Ad hoc offshore surveys
  • Contribute in tendering activities in selected projects
  • Coach for colleagues regarding designs and analyses, and act as quality lead

You will operate with international relations, out of the office in Esbjerg, and thus your travelling will be limited to 10-20 days yearly. However, you will daily be exposed to stakeholders from Norway, Middle East and India. You will report to a team leader in the department.

Self-driven engineer with experience in design of steel structures from the offshore industry
As a person, you combine your analytical approach and high professionalism with the ability to develop practical solutions. You are comfortable in a specialist role, and are highly motivated by working with technical complexities. However, you are also able to communicate your technical knowledge in a client-oriented and understandable way. In your projects, you collaborate across disciplines and establish good relations with clients and colleagues. We also expect your qualifications to include:

  • Master degree or equivalent in structural or offshore engineering
  • More than 10 years of experience in design of steel structures for the offshore industry
  • Experience with design projects, incl. estimation and control of cost, time, resources and quality
  • Hands-on experience with 3D beam element programs (such as ROSAP, SESAM, SACS or similar)
  • Good English skills both written and oral
  • Experience with MS Office applications (Word and Excel)

In total, there are 45 dedicated and experienced employees in marine structures. They work within different specialist areas, and with a strong cross-functionally and geographically scope. They sell feasibility concepts, designs, reassessment projects and up-grade projects directly to clients.
