Head of Lead Site & Commissioning Management for international offshore wind farms

Would you like to join our dedicated teams of international colleagues and work on some of the world’s largest offshore wind projects?

Join us and become Head of Lead Site & Commissioning Management in our Construction department. At present, we are working in the United Kingdom, Denmark and Germany with the responsibility of realising DONG Energy Wind Power's 2020 strategy and health, safety & environment goals.

The department is part of Wind Power, which has 1400 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe.

You may choose freely to be based either at one of our Danish offices in Skærbæk near Fredericia or in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area, or alternatively at our London office in the United Kingdom on local terms and conditions. However, you should expect frequent travelling in relation to your work.

Areas of responsibility
As Head of Lead Site & Commissioning Management, you are responsible for a very competent team of Lead Managers, ensuring the overall management setup and project execution of onshore construction activities and onshore and offshore commissioning activities in the United Kingdom, Germany and Denmark.

You are also accountable for developing generic and standardised management processes and governance procedures together with your team. Moreover, you support initiatives and lessons learnt to develop and anchor best practice around the project execution. Your direct reference will be the Head of Construction Department.

Furthermore, your key duties will be to:

manage the line of Lead Managers (> 10) based at various locations across DONG Energy sites, including a minor back-office team in the United Kingdom and Denmark
develop department strategy and execute plan
design, recruit and develop organisation to support strategy, including ensuring sufficient competent persons are in place between pre-final investment decision and final investment decision to deliver defined department obligations and projects safely during all phases and in accordance with time schedules
participate in implementation of global DONG Energy Cost of Electricity and Standard Wind Farm initiatives and improvements
develop project resource and working model in collaboration with Construction Project Managers and Project Directors.

Your profile
You have a technical education, for example a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
You have strong credentials in line management of technical and management staff with a proven record, operating with an international remit. Preferably, this is combined with high level management experience from large scale projects concerning offshore wind farm projects, thermal power plant/CCGT projects or similar industries. You speak and write English fluently.

As a person, you have excellent influencing skills, with a personable, patient and collaborative style. You are resilient and process minded, with a strong appreciation of change management and a passion for efficiency. 
Furthermore, you possess a high decision orientation combined with the ability to maintain a high level overview in a constantly changing and international environment.
