Technical concept developer for Foss

Concept Development is looking for a new colleague to strengthen our technical development team:

• Are you an inventor of heart?

In concept development we start-up all new development projects and prepare the projects for delivery to Product Development and the Line Organization. We are a team of 12 passionated people that all have a technical background with different fields of expertise, and levels of experience.

We develop concepts for analytical solutions that are targeted for the food or agricultural applications in different industries. This could be small wineries, commercial laboratories, or in-line solutions in large food production sites. The concepts are founded in technical knowledge, as well as an understanding for the customer’s situation and requirements.

A FOSS solution consists of a measurement core that is integrated with a sample or product interface. This must be designed to suit the purpose of use as well as functionalism. In short, this will be your focus in the domain where analysis meets the mechanical system.

Your tasks are to:

• Create product and application concepts in close cooperation with 1-3 colleagues in a small cross-disciplinary team
• Generate ideas, where you conduct small proof-of-principal studies, create solution proposals and set main specifications
• Cooperate with colleagues in Product Development and the Line organization, with the purpose of gaining insight from their perspectives and to prepare the concept for delivery
• Participate in customer visits, and contribute to concept work-shops and user testing - in order to get feedback to concept proposals, and to build your own understanding of the situation of the clients
• We expect that you wish to raise the bar in FOSS’ technical solutions, and that you are an entrepreneurial spirit that spots new possibilities, follows the technical development within your fields of expertise, and challenges yourself and your team’s assumptions

Your profile:

• We expect that you have a relevant education on a Master Level.
• It is important that you have a solid understanding of analytical techniques, for example from your education
• You have practical experience with hardware development. It is an advantage if you have experience with various phases and disciplines of product development - a background from a consultancy position is preferable
• You must have the will and ability to seek ideas and communicate ideas to others, for example by creating a mock-up or an experimental model that shows parts of the system in function
• We prefer that the candidates have experience with development of analytical instruments or process analytics
• Your personal competences are important, and we value drive, a sharp mind, and a strong team player
