Web developer
Do you want to use your skills for visualization of scientific data?
In the Bio-IT department at the Novozymes headquarters in Bagsvaerd, Copenhagen, we maintain and develop a large in-house computing platform for the scientific data of the global R&D organization.
More than 700 users within microbiology, molecular biology, bioinformatics and biochemistry use the IT system for data registration and searching as well as for advanced genome analysis and proteomics. The fast increasing and complex data are displayed through a huge number of different webpages which are optimized for the various users groups.
We are looking for a web developer who wants to push the data visualization and user friendliness of our web application to the next level. You are knowledgeable about structuring client side applications and doing frontend performance optimization.
Qualifications
- You are skilled frontend developer with a Master’s degree within IT or comparable working experience.
- Presentation, visualization and usability of complex data are what you burn for.
- You generate ideas for new user interfaces and your technical skills are:
- Web user interface design (UX) and development (prototyping)
- HTML5, CSS (LESS/SASS, structure), JavaScript, jQuery, Webservices (REST)
- Experienced in the areas of JavaScript organisation (Grunt), MVC frameworks (ember.js, Angular.js), Visualisation (D3.js)
- As an extrovert person with very good communication skills you enjoy working closely together with the users and the backend developer team. You are fluent in English and you speak or are willing to learn Danish. You like to finish tasks, and you stick to the plan and focus on deadlines. You are motivated to learn the needed basics of biotechnology to understand the use of the IT systems.
Challenges
We are a team of 11 IT experts and scientists who use our knowledge for data management systems to enable biotechnology innovation. We cover business analysis, solution design, development, testing and debugging, project management, system administration, backup, monitoring, capacity planning and user support. Our technology stack is based on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Perl, jQuery, Catalyst, Mason, PostgreSQL, Git, Trac, Linux and www::Mechanize for unit testing.
