R&D Engineer in ROCKWOOL Group Research & Development

Can you help develop the building systems and insulation products of the future?

The building industry will change significantly in the coming years: insulation requirements will go up, the building processes will be more industrialised, old traditions will be challenged, and suppliers will to a higher extent supply systems instead of standardised products. ROCKWOOL is in an excellent position to lead and influence this development. In order to do this we are looking for employees who are able to look into the future and influence it.

You will be placed in the Building Envelope team which is a part of ROCKWOOL Group Research and Development. The Building Envelope team develops the building systems of the future within areas such as façade, HVAC, roofing, acoustic ceilings and insulation. You will be working from the ROCKWOOL Group’s headquarters in Hedehusene, Copenhagen.

As an R&D Engineer in the Building Envelope team, you will provide specialist knowledge to projects in Group Research and Development, and you will also be responsible for your own projects. You will develop and document new products and building systems, with a focus on customer value. It is important that you maintain and develop a high level of specialist knowledge within building processes, building materials, building physics, acoustics, production processes, certification and standards. Therefore, you need to create a strong network both inside and outside the organisation. We are looking for two new employees to join our Building Envelope team. Ideally we would like to hire both an experienced candidate and an entry level candidate.

Experienced Civil Engineer

• +10 years relevant experience from consulting, contracting, development or manufacturing
• Specific knowledge from Façade or HVAC
• Knowledge about fire
• General knowledge about the building industry
• Personal skills within communication, stakeholder handling, leadership, drive and creativity
• Project management skills
• Fluent in written and spoken English

Entry level Civil Engineer

• 0-3 years’ experience
• Civil engineer degree or similar
• Strong communicator
•  Innovative
• Good networking skills
• Good at documenting results
• Fluent in written and spoken English
