Application Engineer

Are you an electrical or electronic engineer, and do you see yourself as the strong link between Danfoss’ worldwide sales companies and the development and production sites? Do you see yourself supporting experts and customers with high level technical support on frequency converters and applications? And do you excel in technical or sales support issues? Then we have just the job for you as our new Application Engineer at Danfoss Power Electronics in Gråsten. The division includes Supply Chain, Research and Development centres in China, Denmark, USA, and Germany, and a global network of sales offices offering customers energy efficient high quality power electronic solutions. You will be working with six competent and dedicated colleagues in Denmark and two in China, all focusing on helping customers to an optimal solution and trouble-free application. You will report to the Director of Hotline & Application Support.
 
Balancing between new business areas and technical support
The position as Application Engineer gives you a unique opportunity to take ownership of the customers’ technical challenges and follow them until they are solved. Your mission is to support Danfoss´ worldwide technical organisation with extended knowledge and support in technical issues that they are not able to handle themselves. Furthermore, you will support local sales with recommendations regarding the best technical set-up for the many different variants of customer applications. Other areas of responsibility will be:

• Customer support
• Advanced/high level technical advice
• Solution testing in lab
• Troubleshooting
• On site visits

You will be working in the hotspot between customers and R&D, in a department where you organise your own working day, making sure that our customers get world class support every time. As such, the job entails approx. 30 travelling days a year.
 
Application expert and/or in-depth knowledge of power electronics
You hold a bachelor in electrical engineering or similar. Most important is your hands on experience working with development of drives or experience with troubleshooting and installation of drives. On a more personal note, you are an entrepreneurial spirit with good communication skills, a commercial understanding, and a business approach second to none. Furthermore, you are used to working with international customers. Keeping a sense of perspective and an adequate ability to sit tight and keep calm in a hectic workday with many deadlines is one of your other suits, and due to your strong drive you know exactly how to focus your efforts. As you will be working in an international environment, it is required that you master English in both speech and writing.
