Deputy General Manager Sales - Operation and Maintenance

Do you have a technical background with a thorough knowledge of sale of service solutions and in particular O&M contracts for power plants or alternatively heavy industries? Would you thrive in a dynamic work environment in which you would be given great responsibility for further developing the sale of Operation and Maintenance contracts from our headquarters in Allerød, Denmark? If so, you could be the ideal candidate for this vacant position.
 
Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor (BWSC) is a world-leading turnkey contractor and operator of medium and large scale diesel-, biomass- and biogas power plants. We are currently constructing or operating power plants in, amongst others the UK, Lebanon, Kenya and Sri Lanka. 
 
In our O&M Department we prepare proposals for new O&M projects and support the Sales and Marketing Department in the development of contracts and contract negotiations.
 
We are currently experiencing a considerable growth in the sale of new long-term O&M contracts and potential sales leads especially within the biomass area in the UK. Consequently, we wish to strengthen the O&M department by employing a Deputy General Manager Sales, who with reference to the General Manager O&M will be responsible for the further development of the sale of new O&M contracts.
 
The position
With reference to the General Manager for the O&M department, you will be responsible for the following:  

• Leading the team of sales and proposal personnel in the O&M department with regard to specification, calculation and preparation of proposals for O&M contracts.
• Leading the team of sales personnel in contract negotiations and coordinate with other supporting parties internally as well as externally.
• Cooperation with the Sales and Marketing department on O&M sales projects.
• Follow up on existing and develop new sales strategies.
• Cross-project coordination of the proposal and sales of O&M contracts.
• Together with the sales managers follow up on proposals with the client directly or in cooperation with our Sales and Marketing department.
• Participation in development of innovative and competitive new concepts in the O&M department.
• Development and maintenance of good relations with clients, suppliers and other parties involved in the proposal and sales process.

Qualifications

• Preferably a marine engineer, mechanical engineer or equivalent technical background with a thorough knowledge of the power business, alternatively other heavy industries.
• Postgraduate degree in administration, finance or similar.
• Flair for and interest in preparation of technical proposals with complex commercial elements.
• Experience with complex international contract set ups.
• Proven track record of successful contract negotiations at the highest international level.
• Mastery of spoken and written English on a high level. 
• Systematic and committed with the ability to focus in a dynamic and often hectic environment.
• Self-starter, energetic and goal-oriented. 

You should expect to travel up to 40-50 days a year.
