Technical Project Manager for Mechanical / Electrical Design

For our R&D Department on Electrical Hardware Design we are looking for a skilled technical project manager / lead engineer to handle our mechanical designs of electrical equipment. The technical project manager / lead engineer is responsible for managing our design engineers and specialists as well as taking an active part in the future mechanical development and design of our electrical hardware solutions in Siemens Wind Turbines. The department is responsible for product and technology developments in the areas of power converters and electrical panels as well as MV equipment and wind turbine lightning protection and EMC conformity. As technical project manager / lead engineer you will be responsible for management of a skilled global team with a very broad area of technical knowledge within mechanical design of electrical hardware. A comprehensive solution approach is essential for the department’s success due to the diverse complexity of the owned components and solutions. Quality and timely deliveries are key performance elements in the daily work to secure best in class wind turbines for our customers.
 
What are my responsibilities?

  • Management of mechanical design of electrical solutions and components
  • Participating in weekly project meetings in the hardware department
  • Driving technical solutions and reviews with internal design team and multiple sub-suppliers and solution providers
  • Ensuring time and quality in the deliveries to our projects
  • Task coordination and priorities as well as task execution on key tasks
  • Continued development of the design process, design guidelines and design rules
  • Participating in product and technology development roadmaps and expand partnerships with external partners and suppliers

 
What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • You are a a skilled project manager and senior design engineer with deep technical understanding
  • You have an education within mechanical engineering of electrical products and minimum 5 years of experience within product development and project management of complex products with multiple stakeholders and suppliers
  • An overall electrical understanding is required including knowledge and experience within mechanical design. Wind turbine knowledge is an advantage
  • You are familiar with working in large matrix organizations
  • As a person you are a dedicated team player and you thrive in a multi-cultural environment
  • You have excellent practical and people management skills, strong communication skills and can interface with numerous parties
  • Furthermore, you possess fluency in spoken and written English.
