Substation Commissioning Manger for onshore and offshore substations for offshore wind farms

Would you like to help ensure quality, efficiency and continued development within wind power?

Join us as soon as possible and become our new Substation Commissioning Manager in the department Substation Electrical Management.

Together with 15 committed colleagues, you will manage the commissioning of LV, MV/HV and SCADA into the substations structural and civil works. You will act as a single point of contact and be the technical coordinator handling interfaces between LV systems, MV/HV components and SCADA systems.

Substation Electrical Management is part of Wind Power, a large business unit with 1300 employees. We are the world leader in offshore wind power and have exceptional competences within all fields of offshore wind technology. Our project portfolio comprises several major offshore wind projects in Northern Europe, and we have an ambitious strategy for further international growth in the coming years.

You may choose freely to be based either at our office in Skærbæk near Fredericia, in Gentofte or in London on local terms and conditions. However, you should expect to be expatriated in connection with work on sites in Denmark and abroad in connection with your work.

Areas of responsibility
As Substation Commissioning Manager, you will be a member of our committed team of electrical commissioning managers working with electrical and mechanical installations on our substations. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate tasks between projects participants and suppliers within the electrical and utility field.

In addition, you will work with quality assurance and be co-responsible for ensuring that we meet time and quality requirements in connection with our projects. You will follow up on quality and deliveries during fabrication and construction of substations.

Moreover, you will support design of mechanical, communications and safety systems. You will also manage QA and HSE, perform risk assessments and identify and perform risk mitigation actions. Furthermore, you will collaborate and ensure an efficient working relationship with our civil and structural engineering departments and the colleagues responsible for supply of LV and MV/HV components.

You will also participate in project team meetings and cross-discipline cooperation, and you will handle supervision and commissioning activities as well as handover to our O&M department. In the specific area assigned to you, you will manage the overall commissioning schedule and coordinate commissioning activities with main suppliers and subcontractors.

Furthermore, your key duties will be to:

  • coordinate project commissioning activities
  • secure a high quality of commissioning works and documentation
  • report on commissioning progress and participate in commissioning meetings
  • participate in development tasks and lessons learnt sessions within the electrical and utility field.

Your profile
You will hold an education as a Bachelor or a Master of Science in Engineering specialised within the electrical commissioning field, and you will be interested in working with electrical and utility installations.

Furthermore, it is essential that you have built up professional competences from relevant working experience. You will also have project coordination skills and experience in carrying out a professional dialogue with stakeholders. Furthermore, you will have experience in leading design teams or projects in a matrix organisation.

You will have extensive practical as well as theoretical experience with electrical components, such as LV, MV, HV, SCADA and installations. Extensive experience from a similar position, from work on power plants or from the engineering sector will also be an advantage.

As we are an international company and work closely together with our colleagues abroad, it is essential that you speak and write English fluently.

It is important that you have an extrovert personality and thrive on teamwork as you will solve the majority of your tasks in close cooperation with external business partners and colleagues across professional groups. You will have personal drive and a dedicated and responsible approach to your work. Furthermore, you will enjoy sharing your knowledge with your colleagues in the project group and in your department.

We offer
An exciting job where you will have excellent opportunities to develop your competences when you help execute some of the largest construction projects within onshore and offshore wind power.

You will be part of a dynamic and technical department where solutions have a high professional standard, and you will be able to spar with experienced colleagues in an informal environment. We focus on how to best create value for the company, and we are inspired by freedom with responsibility rather than by rules.

You will have attractive terms of employment with good educational opportunities. We have an active employee policy, which supports your career throughout the various phases of your working life.
