 - to create our products of the future

Our mechanical design department is expanding, and we therefore need another skilled mechanical designer.  Mechanical development is undertaken in close cooperation with the other development functions in Widex, and thereby addresses the exciting interdisciplinary challenges associated with developing hearing aids and other medical devices.

You will be part of a small multidisciplinary project team working to develop a hypoglycaemia alarm-device that shall warn diabetics when their blood sugar level is critically low. The measuring principle is based on continuous EEG measurement from surface electrodes placed in the ear. Close cooperation with external partners from both industry and academia is an integral part of the project.

Your main tasks will be:

  • Mechanical design of medical devices incl. EEG electrodes
  • Design of test systems and device prototypes
  • Test planning, execution and documentation

Our department works with the latest technology in CAD, simulation and prototyping, including CREO, Moldex3D eDesign, Ansys DesignSpace, 3D printers, etc. We also place a high priority on professional skills, and provide the possibility of individual specialisation and supplementary training through so-called competence groups.

About you
Widex is a company known for going its own way, with its heart in the right place and the emphasis on quality. We expect you to be able to contribute to this spirit.

We therefore prefer that you:

  • are positive, focused and dynamic in your work
  • have a good, solid education as a plastics engineer or mechanical engineer,  preferably with skilled practical training behind you
  • are a super-user of 3D CAD programs
  • have experience in the development of plastic, metal and rubber parts
  • can achieve good results on the basis of both theory and practice

Preferably you should also have experience with:

  • Medical device development
  • EEG measurements
  • Electrode materials and electrochemistry

About us
At Widex, we enjoy an informal and development-oriented working climate, with skilled colleagues, short decision paths and a large degree of freedom with responsibility.

The benefits we can offer include an advantageous pension scheme with health insurance, flexitime, a sports and arts club, and good canteen facilities. Widex is based in environmentally-friendly headquarters near Allerød, Denmark.
