You are a mechanical or marine engineer with experience from working with maintenance, fabrication, construction and technical trouble-shooting within the oil and gas or similar industries!

Maersk Oil is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for the Rotating Equipment Group within the Technical Department in our Esbjerg Offices.

We Offer
As mechanical maintenance engineer you will be a member of the mechanical group within Facilities, Technical Department. The group supports the corresponding project groups and offshore production assets. Furthermore and in close cooperation with other departments the groups undertakes engineering activities or modification and improvement projects, specifies and coordinates maintenance activities and ensures that e.g. technical standards reflect current best practice. You will be working with maintenance and technical troubleshooting within one of the following areas: rotating equipment, process equipment or safety & utility equipment – covering a variety of mechanical equipment like gas turbines, compressors, pumps, valves, hydraulics, cranes, life boats etc. Facilities span from highly operational activities in the production assets to back office engineering heavy support!

You will join a varied, dynamic and international environment with a high level of activity. Our international engagement can on a longer term offer stationing abroad. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation and update of maintenance procedures and strategies for mechanical equipment within the area of responsibility
  • Follow up on repair and replacement of components offshore and in vendors workshops
  • Support to offshore personnel
  • Preparation of proposals for modification projects
  • Preparation of root cause analysis for failures across assets
  • Support and investigation in connection with major break-downs 

The work will primarily take place in the offices in Esbjerg, and you will be involved in maintenance projects from their conception through detailed design to testing, implementation offshore and the subsequent maintenance activities. Furthermore you will provide technical support to other departments in the organization. 

Expect some travel activities abroad as well as visits to our offshore facilities.

Who we are looking for
The successful candidate has at the minimum 2-3 years of work experience from a similar position including project and operations experience in mechanical engineering, maybe from working with gas turbines, Gen Sets, Compressors, water injection or crude oil pumps or the like. Knowledge of the oil and gas industry is preferred as well as experience from the offshore industry in general is optimal. You hold a degree at BSc or MSc level in Mechanical or Marine engineering. You thrive by working independently and efficiently. You are motivated and have the ability to strive towards technically and financially optimal solutions.

Proficiency in both verbal and written English is a prerequisite.
