Associate Professors/Assistant Professors in Electrical Technology, Power Engineering and Innovation

Center for Bachelor of Engineering Studies, DTU Diplom, at the Technical University of Denmark invites applications for a position as Associate/Assistant Professor in the field of Electric Power and Energy at the Section for Electrical Technology. 

The Section for Electrical Technology was created January 2014 focusing on Electric Energy and Electro technical education and Innovation. During the coming years there will be a strong focus on redesigning educations and developing new prominent experimental facilities for education, innovation, research and commercial use, and the right applicants will be able to participate and influence the process.

DTU Diplom is located at DTU Ballerup Campus and offers bachelor programs, foundation courses and continuing education. Teaching is project- and problem based and is targeting business and industry. The programs have focus on practice-oriented, real-life problems. 

Responsibilities and tasks
The job includes lecturing as well as supervision of bachelor students, and it is expected that you will take active part in developing education elements, courses and new experimental laboratory facilities. Courses and supervision are primarily done in Danish, but some proficiency in English is also desirable.

The Section for Electrical Engineering covers electrical power engineering, electrical installations, control engineering, electrical safety rules and regulations, electrical equipment, power electronics, substations, remote control (e.g. SCADA and RTU), PLC programming and related topics. Alternative energy use like photovoltaic cells, wind generators, heat pumps and their integration in power systems as well as experience within the field of electric propulsion are also desirable. 

The teaching consists of planning and execution of teaching within the abovementioned fields together with professional use of organization, management and innovation. The educational concept is based on the CDIO format. There may also be specific tasks relating to the department's development projects and daily work. 

Qualifications
We expect that you have a bachelor´s or master's degree in engineering or a similar degree and either a PhD degree or more than 3 years of practical experience from industry, utility or similar. 

We moreover expect that the applicant covers:  Experience or high interest in teaching at bachelor, master, or post-graduate levels Solid experience in some of the abovementioned subjects Knowledge of or interest in experimental facilitiesExperience with most workflows within a business environment (development, sales, support, management, IP, politics) and are able to do outreach and interdisciplinary innovation Good communications skills in Danish and English, as most education is read in Danish. You must be able to speak Danish fluentlyAre able to carry out activities and further development in the fields both independently and in teams Contribute actively to the Section’s activities and internal and external networks 
DTU offers upgrading of qualifications and supplementary training if needed

Assessment
The appointment will be as Assistant Professor unless acquired qualifications equivalent to the qualifications of Associate Professor. The academic qualifications for Associate Professors correspond to those obtained by holding an Assistant Professorship or equivalent for three years. In the assessment of the candidates consideration will be given to:

Experience in teaching and education Broad and relevant work experience Dedication toward and ability to communicate Desire and ability to contribute to the section's internal and external collaboration

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union. The place of work is DTU Diplom in Ballerup.
