Engineer for Pilot Plant

We are looking for an Engineer for our Pilot Plant in Hørsholm within the field of fermentation and downstream process development. 

Pilot Plant sets the standard for the production of bacterial cultures in Chr. Hansen. We have extensive expertise regarding development of robust and feasible fermentation and downstream processes for production of bacterial cultures. Our core activities are development of fermentation processes in pilot scales up to 700 l, and stabilisation of cultures in order to up-scale and implement in Chr. Hansen’s Culture Plants globally. For this work Pilot Plant holds facilities suitable for extensive experimental work including, data logging. 

Your tasks 

• Overall responsible for equipment in Pilot Plant
• Coordinate maintenance in Pilot Plant
• Optimise and troubleshoot existing processes in our Pilot Plant and Culture plants
• Design, implement and validate new process equipment 

Your personal profile

• You hold a relevant academic education degree in bioprocess engineering or a related field. Practical expertise is a definite advantage
• You have knowledge of and a strong interest in several of the following operations: sterilisation, fermentation, centrifugation, filtration, spray-drying and freeze-drying
• You understand the importance of hygiene both from a design and process point of view
• You have good understanding of software involved in production control
• You are systematic, team-oriented and are able to handle several assignments in parallel, often with conflicting priorities
• You participate in and contribute to cross-functional teams to successfully achieve project and business goals
• You have a practical approach and enjoy seeing the results of your work in production scale
• You document your work at a high level and are quality minded - in Chr. Hansen we work according to ISO9001/2000 and ISO 22000/2005
• You have a can-do attitude towards work, combined with a good sense of humor
• You are excellent in Danish and English (orally and in writing)
